Privacy Policy
This covers improve-my-ads.com and the Ad Hook Grader Chrome extension. Plain-language version: we collect what we need to run the audits and grades you ask for, we don't sell your data, and the extension only talks to the same API the website itself uses.
What we collect
- Ad content you submit for audit — screenshots, video, links, or text you upload to run an audit. Stored so you can revisit your results and track improvement over time.
- Headlines you grade with the free Ad Hook Grader (on the website or in the Chrome extension) — the text and resulting score, plus a one-way hashed version of your IP address, used only to enforce the free-tier rate limit (currently 8 grades/hour). We never store your raw IP address.
- Account info — if you sign in (Google, Apple, or email), we store your email address and an account identifier to associate your audits and purchases with you.
- Payment info — handled entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation of a completed purchase or subscription, never your card details.
- Contact form submissions — name, email, and message, used only to reply to you.
How it's used
Ad content and headlines are sent to AI models (via OpenRouter, currently Google's Gemini models) to generate the behavioral analysis, score, and rewritten suggestions you see. We don't use your submitted ad content to train any model. Account and payment data is used solely to run your account, unlock paid reports, and email you transactional confirmations (purchase receipts, sign-in, etc.) — we don't send marketing email unless you separately opt in somewhere that says so.
Public leaderboard
Free-tier audit results are shown, anonymized, on our public leaderboard by default — score and category breakdown only, never the brand name, findings text, or your uploaded media. Unlocking a result (one-time purchase or subscription) removes it from the leaderboard.
The Chrome extension, specifically
Manual grading, on any site: selecting text and choosing "Grade this ad hook" from the right-click menu, or pasting into the toolbar popup, sends only that exact text to the same public grade-hook API the website's free tool uses.
Automatic ad detection, on Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Search, YouTube, Reddit, and TikTok only: on these specific sites, the extension scans the page for common ad markers (e.g. a "Sponsored"/"Promoted"/"Ad" label) to offer a one-click "Grade this ad" button directly on ads it recognizes. This scan runs locally in your browser and sends nothing anywhere by itself — text is only sent to our preview-ad API if you click that button. On every other website, the extension does not read the page at all.
Your grading history is stored locally in your browser (via chrome.storage.local) so you can revisit past grades — it is never uploaded anywhere and stays on your device. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.
Third parties we rely on
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- OpenRouter (routing to models such as Google Gemini) — the AI analysis behind every audit and grade.
- Stripe — payment processing for one-time and subscription purchases.
- Google / Apple — optional OAuth sign-in, if you choose it.
Each handles data under its own privacy policy in addition to this one.
Your choices
You can use the free Ad Hook Grader (website or extension) with no account at all. You can request deletion of your account and associated audits at any time via the contact page. Uninstalling the Chrome extension removes all locally stored history immediately.
