HAPPY WITH HOW IT LOOKS?
Now find out whether it will actually convert.
The full Google Ads audit runs six lenses over the whole ad — behavioral psychology, platform and media buying, copywriting, offer, creative craft and conversion funnel — and ranks every finding by impact against effort. Free preview, then a one-time unlock.
Testing several headlines? The Ad Hook Grader scores a single line 0-100 on scroll-stop strength, so you can pick a winner before you write the rest of the ad.

Questions people ask

Where is the ad preview tool in Google Ads?
Google's own version lives inside a Google Ads account under Tools → Planning → Ad preview and diagnosis, which means you need an active account with campaigns to reach it. This page is the no-account alternative: it renders the ad mockup itself, so you can see and share a preview before anything is built in Google Ads.
What is the role of the Google Ads ad preview and diagnosis tool?
Google's tool does two separate jobs: it shows how a search results page looks for a query, and it diagnoses why one of your existing ads isn't showing there. This page does the first job for an ad you haven't launched yet — it's for writing and checking copy, not for debugging why a live ad stopped serving.
How to check ad preview?
Type your business name, headline, description and any sitelink extensions into the ad card above. It renders live in Google's actual ad typography and layout as you type. Switch between desktop and mobile to see where each line wraps or gets cut.
What are the Google Ads character limits?
Each headline is capped at 30 characters, each description at 90, sitelink titles at 25 and sitelink descriptions at 35. A responsive search ad accepts up to 3 headlines and 2 descriptions, and Google picks and joins them per search — so an individual headline must stand on its own. The counters under the card flag anything Google will cut.
Is this really free?
Yes. No account, no credit card, no Google Ads spend. Previewing is unlimited and entirely in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere. The optional AI grade has a small hourly limit per visitor, since that one costs real money to run.
Does the preview match what searchers actually see?
It matches Google's ad typography, the Ad label, the domain breadcrumb, and sitelink layout, on both desktop and mobile widths. What no preview tool can promise is which of your headlines Google will choose to show, or whether ad extensions and other SERP features will push your ad around on the day — those are decided live at auction.
